It is time for a new challenge over at Creative Card Crew! The new challenge is to make a card inspired by a song. We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. This online store keeps several of the items, that I have used on this card, in stock.

My card is inspired by the song “Sailing on the seven seas” by OMD. The inspiration is mostly from the title as the lyrics of the song is kind of blue… Well, the main color on the card is blue, so that fits too! Anyways, I finally got to use the sailor girl stamp from Magnolia. She is adorable! In addition to her, I dug up a bunch of maritime themed papers and bling.
It is May and Mother’s Day in the US is coming up so I chose to make a mother’s day card for the new challenge over at Creative card Crew. We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp so this is your chance to win a gift card at a very well stocked online store :-)
I found a saying about mothers after a quick online search. The sentiment was written using my new fountain pen (Pilot Namiki Falcon) with a flexible tip. I was able to make the words look similar to Copperplate calligraphy script, but it is not quite there. It is best to use proper nib and ink. The background text says Love and Mother (in English and Norwegian) and the words were written in clothesline lettering. This is a fun and quick way to write decoratively. It looks as if the letters have been hung on a clothesline.
I hope you like our new challenge and join us!Ann Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01726098465099939636noreply@blogger.com0Sandefjord, Norway59.1313095 10.216594859.098722 10.1376308 59.163897 10.295558799999998tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584728916989591921.post-27941699803618095342012-04-24T13:05:00.000+02:002012-04-24T13:05:29.176+02:00Ribbon
This fortnight we are playing with ribbon over at the Creative Card Crew challenge blog and we are sponsored by the Paper Shelter.
I fell for their collection “cirque”. It contains background paper and the girl and you get colored, uncolored and composition. I have never used colored digital stamps and backgrounds before so I was curious on how to personalize my card. This is what I did:

Printed 3 copies of the background.

The 3 backgrounds where cut and layered to make dimension

Glossy accent was used on her hat and shoes (does not show much in the picture)

White Tim Holtz ribbon was colored using the limited edition color “Iced spruce” (from the Christmas collection). I got so excited when I noticed that this color matched the pre-colored images!

Holes were made on all four corners and the ribbon attached

A base card was cut from Bazzil card stock

I love using Distress Ink and the new challenge over at Creative Card Crew is perfect for it: Use kraft paper. The card I have made is for a confirmation (religious rite of initiation) that is going to take place in May. “Konfirmanten” is the designation of the person who is going to go through the rite.
The card base is kraft paper, just beige and no pattern. I also used that for the sentiment tag. There is also news paper print on thinner kraft paper. Both this and the Tim Holtz kraft paper with the globe was colored using Distress ink.
The metal flower is made from Graphic 45 supplies: Large flower, small flower and button.
It is time for a new challenge over at the Creative Card Crew blog. The theme this time is fittingly called ‘Spring’.
We are sponsored by Stamp Fairy. So why not create a nice spring/Easter card and join the challenge? You could win a gift card in Stamp Fairy’s online store :-)

The Stamp Fairy bunny on my card was colored using Copics markers. The calligraphy was made with dip pen and ink. The style is Copperplate. I have been practicing the letters for a while, but you can see that I need to improve the flourishing (the loops should be more even). Two green ribbons where placed as a belt under the bunny. Happy spring!Ann Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01726098465099939636noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584728916989591921.post-20235665882604729802012-03-13T09:00:00.000+01:002012-03-13T09:00:11.684+01:00Vintage
Vintage time! I found the image of the envelope online awhile back and I think it is a good fit for the Creative Card Crew challenge. The theme is “vintage”. The background was dry embossed using Core’dinations card stock with blue core.
“A long bath can fix almost anything”! It is time for a new challenge over at the Creative Card Crew blog. The theme is “Humor”. My card is perhaps more true than funny, but the stamp sure brings a smile to my face.
We are sponsored by Bugaboo this time. They have pretty and funny digital stamps (including this lovely bubble bath lady). If you join us for this challenge you have a chance to win a gift card for Bugaboo’s online store.
The theme for the new challenge over at the Creative Card Crew blog is “Masculine”. Making “manly” cards seems to be a challenge every time!
This card was made for a birthday for a guy with first initial D. So I got a chunky chipboard D at a local hobby store. All edges were distressed using Distress Ink. The paper is from the collection by Graphic 45 called “Join the circus”. The crown, small “D” and key are from Tattered Angels and sprayed with Glimmer Mist. And lastly, the metal hinge is also from Graphic 45.
Greetings! It is February soon and time to make Valentine’s cards. The theme for the new challenge at Creative Card Crew is “Seeing Red”. So you can make a Valentine’s card or any card with the color red.
The majority of the material used on my card, is fabric. The background is red velvet. the butterfly is also made of fabric. And then of course the ribbon…
The lady bug was made using a tiny stamp. It was colored using Copic markers, cut out, then rounded using an embossing tool and finally covered with glossy accents.
It is time for a new challenge at Creative Card Crew and the theme this time is "Snow Day". The card above is my contribution. I had such fun making this one!

All the snowflakes were made using Spellbinder dies and then decorated in different ways:

Silver embossing

Shabby white embossing enamel from Stampendous!

Silver crushed glass glitter from Stampendous!

Blue distress ink rubbed on using a foam applicator on white cardstock

Blue glimmer mist

I used the white embossing enamel on small snowflakes on the background as well. There is gold glitter in the enamel. I love this stuff! I believe it is a pretty new product.

The border on top was punched using a Martha Steward snow flake border punch.

The rosette was made using a Tim Holtz die and silver Stickles was added.

Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium collection contains the blue paper that was used in the background.

The big blue flower and the white twirly straw were bought in the Magnolia store in Sweden. Yes, you read right! I visited the original Magnolia store in Sweden this December. And yes, I bought MANY stamps. My mother and I felt we were in paradise! :-)

Anyways, I hope you head over to the challenge blog and submit your snow day card. Simon Says Stamp is our sponsor so you could win a gift card!
The ends of the horizontal banner at the bottom have been curved using a pencil to give a little dimension. The tear at the top is another fun effect I like to use these days. :-)
This is so much fun! This is my first post as a design team member at Creative Card Crew. The new challenge theme is “Thankful”.
The base card was cut using the Cricut cartridge “Elegant Edges”.
The papers are from:

Graphic45 – Halloween in Wonderland collection

Core’dinations – Tim Holtz (for the green pear)

American crafts – Brown cardstock (autumn collection)

Edges were distressed using the Tim Holtz edge distresser and Colorbox ink (Chestnut roan). The pear was dry embossed and sanded.
The metal flowers are from Graphic45. I placed one small flower on top of a large and rolled their edges to add a little dimension to it.
I wrote “Thankful” with a black Micron pen. The letters were stretched out to fill the area.
The long strips of paper are rolled at the ends. Blue paper was accordion folded, distressed and glued underneath the vertical tear in the paper on the top.
The challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp – so hurry to the CCC blog and enter to win!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Here is my second contribution.

I’d also like to join the challenge at Skrappekammeret.

This is a 5x7 inch notepad I made for my husband. He is a RC plane/helicopter enthusiast and I wanted to give him a “manly” notepad in that theme.

Well, I am not sure how manly it ended up being, but I think he liked it.

The wire binding on the top was done using the Zutter Bind-it-all machine. I love that thing!

The background paper is from K&Company’s collection called Blue Awning. The blue card stock was dry embossed using a Tim Holtz embossing folder, then sanded and torn. The cardstock is also a Tim Holz thing (Core’dinations).

The plane was cut using Cricut. I have forgotten which cartridge this plane is from. Most likely it is “My world”. The lighter shade cardstock is also Tim Holz/Core’dinations.

A few rub on swirls and sentiments were placed on it. I finished it off by attaching some paper clay buttons I made (older post).
Ann Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01726098465099939636noreply@blogger.com3
